High Falls Thompson River North Carolina
Directions: Take US 64 West to 281 South then drive 3.6 miles and park on the left at Brewer Rd SR 1189. Head up the gated trail at the top of the road following what may have been an old logging road, and after about a mile, we came to a fork. The main fork to the left is the way to Thompson or Big Falls, follow the smaller trail to the right that goes past High Falls. After about 1/2 a mile you'll hear the falls on your left. Look for a small side trail going off to the left near a small poplar tree. Head down to the river from here.
