Sassafras Falls Snowbird Graham County, NC

Directions:  The snowbird area is at the intersection of Massey Branch RD NC 143,SR 1116 and Snowbird rd NC 143, SR 1127.  Drive north on NC 142,SR 1127 for 2.1 miles, turn left onto SR 1115 2.1 miles arrive a three-way intersection turn sharply left and continue 1 mile more.  You will cross a concrete bridge, turn right onto SR1120 drive 6.2 miles until it dead ends at the trial head.  The trail head is about 50" to the left of the information board.  Head up Big snowbird trail at 1.5 miles you pass a Jeep blocking boulder at 2.5 you will see the Getaway car on the right continue across the river.  At 2.8 miles you will arrive at a split take the left Sassafras Creek Trail (#65).  Hike this trail for about .8 of a mile look for a small trail off to your left you should be able to here the falls.  The trail heads down about 250' to the base of the falls.
